As part of our DE&I commitment in 2021, LGA has been supporting and showcasing equality and social justice efforts by local businesses . This quarter, we have selected Collettey’s Cookies, whose mission is to create jobs for people with disabilities as well as to change public perception of their abilities.
Collette moved to Boston and struggled to find work out of college, so she decided to turn her passion for baking into a business, and founded Collettey’s Cookies. She began by selling her signature cinnamon chocolate chip cookie, “The Amazing Cookie” at a local grocery store. Collette’s company then became more than a way to make a living by adopting the mission of creating jobs for other people with disabilities.
After being featured on the Boston CBS nightly news program, Collettey’s Cookies went viral, and she has been flooded with orders! Collette has been featured in Forbes, People, and has shared her success story on multiple news stations around the world! Collette will be featured in Peacock’s docuseries “Born for Business”! The docuseries will be capturing the lives of four entrepreneurs with disabilities and what it takes to run a small business.
